Solidarity Song Circle (Fundraiser for the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights)

🦋 Inspired by @singingresistancetc and @singingresistance, Ypsilanti joins the efforts as @singingresistanceypsilanti, alongside @singingresistanceannarbor, in the national movement for solidarity song circles as a nonviolent form of pr0test against authoritarianism and 0ppre$$ion.

🪄 Singing is good medicine for the nervous system. Singing in community reduces isolation by building personal connections, decreases helplessness by harnessing collective resilience, and mitigates stress by strengthening the energetic layer of Love and Protection in our bodies, in the atmosphere, and in the collective body.

📍Join a local group of singers on Saturday Feb 21 from 2-4pm in downtown Ypsilanti for the first solidarity song circle as a fierce and joyful act of res!stance and l!beration.

🗽 All ages and voices welcome. No singing experience required.

💸 This offering is donation-based (pay what you can). All funds directly support the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights (WICIR; @wicir_org; WICIR WICIR Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights), which helps our most vulnerable neighbors defend against subjugation to cold-weather agents and state vi0lence. No one turned away due to lack of funds.
