Notes on Red: a film screening & letter-stuffing event with MAPS

Join Michigan Abolition & Prisoner Solidarity (MAPS) to celebrate a special issue of our quarterly newsletter, "The Opening Statement," featuring research on Black Panther Saundra "Red" Holmes by local author Jeff Clark.

We will discuss Red and watch the film "Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975," while helping to stuff newsletters for our 170+ subscribers behind bars. This 2011 documentary features amazing archival footage of the Black Power Movement.

This is a benefit for MAPS! If you're able, we welcome donations towards postage and supplies for the newsletter. Snacks, soft drinks, and zines will be available.

Can't make it? Donate here!
