	 share poems around\nthemes of resistance and exile\, memory\, and identit
	y. Following the readings\,\nUniversity of Michigan Professor Bryan Roby w
	ill moderate a discussion with the\npoets. The moderated discussion will a
	llow attendees to more deeply understand\neach poet and their journey.\n\n
	This event is occurring during National Poetry Month\, which honors poetry
	’s\nsignificance in American history and culture as well as its ability to
	 inspire\nchange. Poetry demands the attention of listeners\, introducing 
	them to new\nperspectives as well as grappling with uncomfortable truths a
	bout our world. The\nworks of these two poets will invite listeners to mou
	rn the devastation in Gaza\nand imagine shared liberation.
